Urgent Needs for December
The cold is here and our urgent needs list reflects the dropping temps.
During the winter months, hand and foot warmers become a small but mighty comfort. Hand lotion to keep moisturized and disposable antibacterial cloths for washing are critical for self-care. Foot powder is also extremely helpful and greatly appreciated because they use it when their feet get wet from walking in snow, rain, etc. It helps prevent real damage to their feet. Things like lip balm, pocket-sized tissue, or cough drops are also in high demand. These may seem like very small items to donate, but they make a BIG difference in the lives of our guests.
We also need some big ticket items, like winter coats, long underwear, and warm winter boots.
We are committed to helping the homeless in Rockford find stability and rebuild their lives. Having these small supplies really helps us. It allows us to fix immediate problems so we can focus on the big picture — securing employment and housing.
