Building on Our Mission

This year, 2020, marks our 20-year milestone of rebuilding lives in Rockford. Literally thousands of homeless adults have secured employment and housing, and achieved a multitude of other life-changing milestones during the last two decades. We are eternally grateful to every donor and volunteer who has helped support us and our mission throughout the past 20 years. 

As we look to the future, Carpenter’s Place is energized to launch a new venture…

A THRIFT STORE!

The primary use of items donated to Carpenter’s Place will not change. They will be given to those who are homeless and working to rebuild their lives through our services.

Items not needed by our guests will be sold at the Thrift Store, and funds raised will support our services to homeless adults and families in crisis.

PLUS! We are excited this shop will provide the opportunity to expand our mission. It will be ThriftPLUS!

The PLUS elements include:
» Job Readiness Worksite
» Work Wardrobe Essentials
» Children’s Clothes Closet
» Give-Away Book Nook
» Cycles for Change Bike Program

We will also gather input from the area served and develop programs to meet neighborhood needs.
