Co-Founder Cathy Barsema Retires

Dear Friends of Carpenter’s Place,

Twenty years ago, Cathy Barsema and her husband, Al, founded Carpenter’s Place. In her role as Director of Guest Services, Cathy faithfully served our homeless guests, and taught others to do the same.

On September 30, staff gathered to celebrate her outstanding service and wish her well in her retirement. Cathy leaves a legacy of excellence and commitment to the CP mission. The CP Board and staff will be steadfast in carrying that forward.

Due to COVID restrictions, we were not able to host an open-house for this special occasion. If you’d like to send a card of good wishes to Cathy, please mail it to Carpenter’s Place, 1149 Railroad Avenue, Rockford 61104 and we’ll forward it to her.
