#GivingTuesday Your Gift Makes All the Difference

Ken is waiting at Carpenter’s Place for the doors to open – he has been sleeping outside in the bitter cold with just his coat and a small blanket.  He carries all his belongings with him in a plastic grocery bag.

Like Ken, many of those we serve are forced to sleep outside on cold winter nights.  While we work to help find housing, we want to offer those we serve items to keep them as safe and warm as possible.  Our biggest needs right now are:

  • Warm sleeping bags
  • Adult backpacks

Today is #GivingTuesday – an international day of giving commemorating the beginning of the Holiday Season.  We are proud to be a part of this global celebration and hope you’ll consider supporting Carpenter’s Place. Your gift will make all the difference…

Donations may be dropped off M-TH 8:30 to 4:30 pm and Fridays 8:30 to 2:30 pm at 1149 Railroad Avenue, Rockford 61104. For questions, please contact Patti at 815-964-4105 ext. 216; PattiF@Carpentersplace.org.

Donations by mail are always appreciated and accepted at any time. Ordering items online continues to be a wonderful option during this time. Our mailing address is: 1149 Railroad Ave. Rockford, IL 61104.

About #GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is an international day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on the holidays and end-of-year giving.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday was born and incubated at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
