#GivingTuesday: December 2
You’ve heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but have you heard of #GivingTuesday?
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a movement to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season, it refers to the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving. This year that day is December 2, 2014!
Carpenter’s Place has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. Taking place December 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday will harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.
To top it off, Carpenter’s Place will once again “Double Your Dollars” throughout the entire month of December! All donations received during December (up to $50,000) will be matched by very generous CP donors. This includes all #GivingTuesday donations! Pretty cool, huh? Be part of the fun; see how great it feels to help those who are homeless this season. Donate today!‹ Back to Blog
